Spent 4 hours trying to get an Etch A Sketch screen clean again
I found an old Etch A Sketch at my parents' attic last weekend. The screen was all cloudy and had these weird streaks from sitting in a damp box for like 15 years. I tried rubbing it with a microfiber cloth, then glass cleaner, then my sister said to use toothpaste and that actually worked after like 4 tries. Anyone else ever try to restore a beat up toy and find a random fix that works?

Oh man, my buddy Dave used a mix of baking soda and vinegar to fix an old Game Boy screen that looked like it had been through a flood. He said he just wiped it gently and it came out looking way better than he expected.

Toothpaste is the official fix for everything from scratched DVDs to cloudy Etch A Sketches apparently. I'm surprised you didn't try Windex and a prayer first lmao.
