Unpopular opinion: my $60 Slip N Slide was a total waste of money

Everyone talks about how awesome Slip N Slides were growing up, but I bought one last summer for my kids and it was a total bust. The plastic tore on the second use right near the sprinkler holes, and the ground has to be perfectly flat and soft or you just scrape your back. I tried it on my lawn in Ohio and the grass killed the slide within 20 minutes. Meanwhile, my neighbor spent $10 on a cheap tarp and some dish soap and his kids had way more fun. Am I the only one who thinks these things are overpriced garbage for how flimsy they are?

Read a Consumer Reports thing on these slides. They tested a bunch and said anything under $40 basically rips day one. The spray nozzle placement is apparently the weak point. Your neighbor had the right idea, tarp and soap is the OG way.
