Unpopular opinion: My old Lego sets from the 90s beat the new kits with their one specific instruction book.
The new ones with the app just feel like following a recipe, but the old ones with the single book forced you to actually figure out the build, which made finishing a set feel like a real accomplishment, so has anyone else gone back to their old toys and found the simpler version was actually better?

Totally get that. Flipping pages back and forth to find a step was its own puzzle. Now it's just mindless tapping.

Oh man, I see what you mean... but it's not always mindless. Sometimes that instant info stops me from giving up entirely. I'd just close the book in frustration before. Now I can get a quick video or a different explanation in seconds. It's less about the tapping and more about not hitting a dead end.
