Which side are you on - should you keep old Lego sets together or mix them all up?
I was sorting my nephew's giant bin of Lego at his place in Denver last weekend and found a half-built pirate ship from 1995 that brought back memories, but half the pieces were missing because his dad tossed them all in one bucket years ago. Do you think it's better to preserve original sets for nostalgia or just let kids go wild and build whatever they want with a mixed pile like I always did?

Go ahead and disagree with you on this one. I've got a couple of original sets from the late 80s that are still together in a box, and my grandkids love seeing the exact spaceship I played with. But honestly, the real fun starts when you dump everything into one big bucket and they start making hovercrafts out of pirate ship hulls and castle turrets. Half the pieces being missing is just an excuse to get creative.

But isn't the whole point of LEGO following the instructions so it actually looks like the thing on the box?
