Figuring out the right insulation for my old house in Portland took forever

I thought it would be a weekend project, but between finding a contractor who did air sealing and picking the right R-value for our walls, it took almost three months. Has anyone else had a home upgrade drag on way longer than you planned?

Tbh, "weekend project" is a funny way to say three months.

Actually think three months is pretty good for that kind of job. My neighbor spent over a year just picking insulation because he kept changing his mind on the type. Getting the air sealing done right is huge, and rushing it would cause way more problems later.

Right? And honestly, a year of indecision sounds like a bigger headache than just committing and getting it done. At least with three months, you know the air sealing is solid and you won't be chasing drafts later. Rushing through that stuff just means you'll end up paying double to fix it down the road.
