Hit 1000 pounds of compost collected from my neighbors this morning

I started a small community compost drop-off in my backyard last spring and just passed the 1000 pound mark this week, which honestly surprised me since I figured people would lose interest after the first few months, has anyone else managed to get their neighborhood on board with something like this?

Grab a 5 gallon bucket with a tight lid and drill holes in the top.

Honestly I tried this once and ended up drilling through my thumb instead of the lid. Took me 45 minutes to clean up blood and still had to buy a new bucket. Not my finest moment but at least the lid was tight so the mess stayed contained.
