I used to drive 15 miles to the nearest farmers market every Saturday without thinking about the gas. Now I plan my route to hit three errands in one trip so I'm not burning fuel just for tomatoes. When did everyone else start bundling their drives into one big loop?

It clicked for me after I calculated my weekly emissions from running around town and realized I was undoing my own climate efforts just to buy local kale.

I really feel you on that, "undoing my own climate efforts just to buy local kale" line hit hard. I started doing the same thing last year when I noticed my grocery trips were somehow worse for the environment than just ordering non-local stuff online. It's kind of wild how we have to rethink everything we thought was eco-friendly from the ground up.
