Lake near Sacramento turned green in 2 weeks flat

I run the community garden next to Folsom Lake and last month the algae bloom went from a tiny patch to covering almost the whole swim area in just 14 days. All that runoff from the new housing development up the creek really kicked it into overdrive. Anyone else watching a local water body change this fast and worried about what summer brings?
