My neighbor's simple fix for a leaky hose changed how I see water waste
I was washing my car last month and my neighbor, Frank, walked over. He pointed at a small drip from my hose connection and said, 'You know, that's probably wasting a gallon every hour. I just use a 79 cent washer from the hardware store.' I bought a pack of ten for $3 and fixed it in five minutes. It made me realize how many small leaks we ignore that add up. Has anyone else found a tiny, cheap fix around the house that cut down on waste?

Totally, a new shower head cut my water bill in half.

Right? It's crazy how much of a difference that makes. I did the same thing last year and was shocked by the next bill. I went from those old power-washer style heads to a basic low-flow one. You don't even notice it while showering, but your wallet sure does.

Yeah, the "you don't even notice it" part is so true. I swapped mine out a few months back after seeing a post like @dakota_murphy90's. My old one felt like a fire hose and was probably from the 90s. The new one has a nice spray and I swear my water heater isn't working as hard either.
