My neighbor's solar panels made me question my whole setup
He showed me his monthly bill was $12 after rebates, and I'm paying $180 still with my old system. Anyone else find out their panels are way less efficient than they thought after a decade?

Dude for real I had the same wake up call when my buddy showed me his setup. I had these old polycrystalline panels from 2014 and I thought they were fine but they were only cranking out like 60% of what they used to. He's got those new bifacial ones with microinverters and his system just acts totally different in partial shade. I checked my degradation rate and it was way worse than the spec sheet said, like 1% per year instead of the 0.5% they promised. So now I'm stuck deciding if I just replace the panels or go all in on a new inverter setup too.

Wait 1% per year degradation? That's brutal, I thought those old panels held up better than that.
