Paid $200 for a home energy audit and it paid for itself in 3 months
Had this company come out last fall. Guy spent 2 hours with a thermal camera and a blower door. Found 4 major air leaks I never noticed. Caulked and weatherstripped everything myself. My gas bill dropped almost $60 a month. Pretty wild what a few gaps around windows cost you. Has anyone else actually done one of these audits? Were the numbers as good for you?

Read a study saying air sealing alone saves homeowners 15% on heating bills.

My gas bill was basically the same as yours. Dropped like $55 a month after I sealed up around the basement rim joists. @the_robin said 15% savings in that study, but my real number was closer to 20%. Guess those 4 leaks I found were really doing work. Only wish I'd done it back when winter first hit instead of waiting until January.
