PSA: My town's 'green' week actually made me rethink the whole thing

They banned all plastic bags for 7 days, but I saw more people just buying thicker reusable ones once and tossing them. Has anyone else seen a local rule backfire like that?

Is that really worse than normal?

It can feel way worse when you're in it. I had a rough patch last year and just talking to someone outside my usual circle helped a lot. Sometimes you need a fresh take to see things clearly. It's not a magic fix, but it made the bad days easier to handle. For me, that outside view was the difference between just coping and actually moving forward.

Honestly used to believe any green rule was a step forward. Seeing that plastic bag ban play out changed my mind completely. People just bought those heavy duty reusable bags like they were disposable. Watched a guy throw three in a public bin on day two. Feels like the rule made more trash, not less. Makes you wonder if the people making these plans ever check what actually happens.
