Showerthought: my $80 rain barrel was a total win
Bought it on a whim last spring and it's already saved me over 1,000 gallons of tap water for the garden... which is a lot in our dry summers. Anyone else have a simple setup that's paid off like that?

Yeah, it's wild how the cheapest fixes often work the best. People overcomplicate everything.

Totally agree with @dylan_thompson. My old laptop just needed a piece of folded paper under the battery to work again. What's the simplest fix you've ever seen work?

That reminds me of this old washing machine my neighbor had. Thing was shaking like crazy during the spin cycle, sounded like a jet engine taking off in their basement. They were ready to call a repairman, spend a few hundred bucks. I told them to just level the feet, you know, twist them a bit until the machine sat flat. They looked at me like I was crazy. Five minutes later, problem solved. They offered me a beer and now I'm basically a hero in their eyes for doing something so simple. It's funny how we always jump to the expensive complicated answer first when the easy one is right there.
