Took me 3 weeks to figure out why my solar panels were underperforming, turns out a single leaf was blocking the microinverter's cooling vent on one panel.
Lost about 15% efficiency from July to mid August before I finally climbed up there and spotted the problem, has anyone else dealt with something this stupid messing with their system?

Had a pine needle do the same thing to one of my inverters back in 2021, cost me about 10 days of production before I noticed the output dip on the app. What finally helped me was setting a monthly reminder to just walk the roof line and check for debris, especially after storms or when the trees start shedding. Also learned the hard way that cleaning the vent with a soft brush beats using compressed air, that just pushes the junk deeper in. Now I keep a cheap thermal camera attachment on my phone, you can spot a hot microinverter from the ground in about two minutes. Saves you from making that climb unless you really have to.
