Tried to compost in a bucket on my Cleveland balcony and it turned into a fruit fly disco
I set up a little compost bin on my balcony in Cleveland back in April, thinking I'd cut my trash in half and do one small thing for the planet. Two weeks in, the thing smelled like a swamp and a cloud of fruit flies moved in, so I drilled more holes, added dry leaves, and begged my neighbor for tips. How do you all keep a small bin from turning into a bug party?
