Vent: City canceled our solar panel rebate right after I signed the contract
Signed up in March for the $1,500 rebate in Austin, then they pulled it two days later because of budget cuts. Now I'm stuck with a system I paid $8k for and no help at all. Anyone else get burned by a program that vanished mid-application?

Did you get any kind of warning at all before they pulled it? That is really rough, especially since you had already signed papers and paid out the money. I know someone in Fort Worth who went through something similar with a window rebate, and it took months of phone calls just to get a straight answer about where they stood. The timing on these programs seems cruel sometimes, they make you move fast and then change the rules on you. Hope you can at least enjoy the system and maybe find another way to get some value back down the road.
