A subcontractor's comment about my drone photos made me rethink everything

I was doing progress shots for a tilt-up project in Denver last month, just flying my drone around like usual. One of the concrete guys pulled me aside and said "you're only showing me what it looks like, not what's actually wrong." That hit hard because he was right, I was just taking pretty overviews instead of getting close-up angles of form alignment and rebar spacing. Now I do a low pass over every joint and pour edge before I leave the site, and it's caught two issues that would've cost us days to fix later. Anyone else changed their inspection routine after a field guy gave them grief?

The part about your concrete guy saying you're missing the real problems, that got me. I had a similar moment last fall when a site supervisor pointed at my footage and asked if I even knew what a cold joint was. I didn't, and I had to look it up that night. Now I take a different approach on every job. I fly low over every edge and corner, not just the pretty wide shots. It takes an extra twenty minutes but it has saved me from looking foolish more than once. That kind of feedback sticks with you, and honestly it makes the photos more useful for everyone on site.
