After seeing a 3D printed house fail, I question the tech craze

I've been in construction for years, and everyone praises 3D printed houses as the future. But I think they have serious flaws that get ignored. On a recent project, the printed walls cracked after only one season. People claim they save time and money, but the repair costs were huge. I'm all for new tech, but we need to talk about these issues. Let's improve the tech before calling it a game changer.

Totally get what you mean about needing to improve the tech before it's a game changer. It reminds me of all the "smart" home gadgets that get pushed out super fast (like those early smart locks that would just stop working). Companies are so quick to call something revolutionary that they skip over the boring, real world testing part.

That concrete mix ratio is usually off.

Yeah, it's that rush to market that kills me. They're so busy selling the dream of a cheap, fast house that they skip the years of testing a normal building method gets. Seeing a wall crack after one winter isn't just a flaw, it's a total failure of the process.
