Hot take: BIM software beating out good old 2D CAD for our last commercial job

We had to pick between Revit and plain AutoCAD for a 40,000 sq ft office build in Austin, and I pushed hard for BIM even though the senior guys wanted to stick with what they knew. After 3 weeks of modeling, we caught a ductwork clash that would have cost us $12,000 to fix in the field, and the whole team got on board. Has anyone else seen BIM pay off like that on a mid-sized project, or was it just luck with our specific layout?

Man, that's a TOUGH break for oliver_fisher but you gotta feel for the seniors too. Change is HARD and BIM learning curves are no joke. Still, saving twelve grand on one catch is a solid win that speaks for itself.
