My new laser level just laughed at me on a job site last Tuesday
I got one of those $100 green beam self-leveling lasers from the supply house and set it up on a concrete slab extension. The auto-level kept failing and beeping every time I walked near it, think the vibration was messing with its sensor. Has anyone else had issues with cheap laser levels on uneven ground or is mine just a dud?

Ngl that sounds like a classic case of getting what you pay for. I've seen this pattern a bunch where cheaper tools have these hypersensitive sensors that can't handle any real world conditions. The vibration thing is a killer on those models, they're designed for a clean flat floor in a climate controlled room not a job site with dust and uneven ground. Mine did the same thing til I put it on a heavy rubber mat to soak up the footsteps.

Rubber mat trick saved mine too, those cheap sensors can't handle a single footstep on cold concrete.
