Overheard a foreman say laser levels are "just a crutch"
Guy was dead serious, said he's been using a string line for 35 years and that's good enough. How do you even argue with a mindset like that when a digital layout tool saves 2 hours on a foundation pour?

Respect the experience but have to disagree. A string line can get you close but it drifts, sags, and you're always guessing if it's actually level. Saw a crew spend half a day trying to square up footings with string and a framing square while a digital layout tool would have dialed it in within minutes. If a tool saves you from redoing work and keeps you from pouring crooked, that's not a crutch, that's just doing the job smarter.
