Pro tip: Using a laser level for grading actually saved me 3 hours on a driveway pour

I was setting up forms for a 30 foot driveway last week in Austin and kept fighting with a string line for the slope. After 45 minutes of rechecking with a regular level and guessing, I grabbed my Bosch laser level and shot a consistent 2% grade across the whole run. Turns out the laser let me adjust each form stake individually without crawling back and forth. Has anyone else tried this instead of the old water level trick for flatwork?

Did you try using it for the cross slope too? I did something similar on a patio last month and realized you can set the laser to project a line right down the middle of the forms, then just eyeball each corner compared to that line. It cuts the math out completely. The water level trick works but you end up spending half the time just moving the hose around and hoping nobody steps on it. Laser is worth the hassle of setting it up once.
