Spent $1,800 on a drone for site surveys, now I can't imagine going back
I run a small crew doing commercial remodels around Charlotte, and we used to spend half a day with a guy on a lift taking roof and facade photos. Last spring I finally broke down and got a DJI model with mapping software, right at $1,800 with extra batteries. It took me two weekends to learn the flight paths, but now I hand the client a 3D model before we even bid. Cuts our takeoff time by maybe 4 hours per job, and it's already paid for itself on three projects. Anyone else using aerial scans for estimating, or still sticking with ladder shots?
