That moment I realized my laser level was off by 3/16 inch

I was framing a wall in a basement remodel in Columbus and couldn't figure out why my top plate was bowing after I nailed it. Turns out I'd been trusting the same cheap laser level for two years without ever checking the calibration. Has anyone else had a tool fail them in a way that cost them a whole afternoon of rework?

Brother that sucks. I know the pain. I spent like four hours laying out a patio once with a string line and it looked perfect until I set the first paver and realized my line was sagging like an inch in the middle. Ended up having to pull everything and start over with stakes every three feet. What really gets me is how long we trust our tools without question. Cheap tools are fine for a while but they just drift over time. I still check my square every time I buy a new one cause I got burned on a drywall square that was out by like an eighth and made all my cuts crooked.
