Vent: My old way of laying out a foundation with string and batter boards was a huge pain
I used to spend half a morning just setting up strings and adjusting those wood frames by hand. Then a guy on my crew in Phoenix showed me his robotic total station last year. We set the same points in like 20 minutes, and the machine beeps when you hit the exact spot. It felt like cheating, but it's just way smarter. Anyone else switch from manual layout to something like this and have it save your butt on a tight schedule?

That beep is the best sound on a job site. We had a two day foundation layout turn into one afternoon after we switched. It's wild how much time you get back.

Totally agree about getting time back! My buddy's crew was staking a big warehouse pad. They were a full day behind until their new gear showed up. He said they caught up by lunch and the boss bought pizza for the whole crew.

Wait, they caught up a full day by lunch? That's insane. The time savings must be huge on those big pads. Boss buying pizza is the real proof it worked.
