Went to a job site outside Nashville that was using RFID chips in their concrete pours
I was down near Franklin last month helping a buddy check foundation work and noticed these little disks embedded in the wet slab. Turns out the GC started tagging every batch with RFID chips to track cure times and mix ratios automatically. They had a handheld reader that pulled up the whole history for each pour section. Honestly felt like something out of a sci-fi movie compared to the paper logs we still use. Has anyone else run into this on their sites or is this just a high-end commercial thing right now?

Are those readers tied to their main office for live updates?

The 2017 model still uses a wired connection to the main office for live updates, not wireless like the newer ones. That's honestly wild to me since my 2022 model updates over wifi without any cables. @ellis.rose you might want to double check that because that sounds like a hassle for a modern reader.
