Can we talk about slow grocery store checkout lines?

I was stuck in a slow checkout line for ages today. Some people swear by jumping to the shortest line, but I think watching how fast the cashier scans items is smarter. How do you handle these frustrating waits?

Let's put this in perspective. A slow checkout line is annoying, but it's not a huge deal. You're probably on your phone anyway during the wait. Making a big deal out of it just adds more stress to your day. Life has enough real problems without freaking out over groceries. Chill out and use the time to relax instead.

On the 'chill out' point, I read that line jumping often backfires anyway.
