DAE miss when service calls meant a handshake and a check, not a card reader?
I spent 20 minutes yesterday explaining to an 80 year old lady why I couldn't take cash for a $85 blower motor fix. Her grandson had to Venmo me from across town. I get it, digital is easier, but I liked when the transaction was done in 30 seconds flat.

Yeah @ben486 that actually changed my mind, I never thought about the chargeback thing til you mentioned it.

Hear me out though... cash is how scammers get away with it too, there's no paper trail when someone takes your money and ghosts you.

The real kicker is how this shifts who takes on the risk in a transaction. Cash was final, no chargebacks, no disputes. Now the customer can call their bank a week later and claim they never authorized the payment, and I'm the one eating the loss. Digital convenience feels like it only works one way - for the person paying, not the person getting paid.
