I finally compared paper towels side by side and learned the truth

So last Saturday I ran out of my usual brand and grabbed the store brand out of desperation. Used both on the same kitchen counter spill and the cheap ones just pushed the water around while the name brand soaked it up in one swipe. I actually did a test with 3 sheets of each and measured how much water they held. Has anyone else found a budget paper towel that actually works as good as the expensive stuff?

Flip the test around and try it on a greasy counter, the cheap ones just smear grease around while name brand actually grabs it. That's where the real difference shows up for me.
