Rant: My favorite coffee mug broke this morning and I'm actually kind of glad

It was this big blue one I got from a thrift store in Denver, and it slipped right out of my wet hands into the sink at 7 AM. Everyone keeps telling me to glue it back together, but honestly, it was chipped and stained and I think it's time to let it go. What's a good way to find a new favorite mug without just buying a bunch?

Actually, that broken mug held your memories and you should totally glue it. It was unique and had character, unlike some new generic thing. Honestly, you'll just regret tossing a piece of your past.

That "thrift store in Denver" part got me. I had this ugly green mug from a yard sale in Phoenix that I only kept because it was a gift. When it finally cracked, it felt like a weird relief, like I was allowed to like my own stuff now.

lol @aaron_gonzalez I read once that getting rid of stuff feels like getting rid of emotional weight, so your relief makes total sense.
