The lady at the post office line changed my mind about complaining

I was stuck in a long line at the main branch on Elm Street, just fuming about the wait. The woman in front of me turned around and said, 'At least we're not standing in the rain like last week, right?' It was such a simple, nice thing to say. I was all set to have a bad morning, but that one comment totally shifted my mood. Does a small kindness from a stranger ever change your whole day like that?

Oh totally! I had a guy at the grocery store let me go ahead of him because I only had a few things (and he had a full cart). That tiny act of patience just made everything feel lighter for hours. It's wild how much a little good vibe from a stranger can help.

Yeah, and it's weird how it works in reverse too, like when someone is rude for no reason it can ruin your whole afternoon. I mean, @leep89 is right about the good vibe helping, but I guess I'm more aware now of how my own mood can affect strangers. Maybe we're all just passing these tiny mood boosts or drains along without even knowing. Makes you want to be the person who says the nice thing in line, you know?
