Uncovered a stat about laundromat markups that ticked me off

I was looking at my credit card bill last night and saw I spent $47 on just washing and drying my clothes this month... that's a lot for one load. Then I read that the average laundromat charges a 300% markup on detergent and dryer sheets from what you'd pay at the store. How are we all just okay with paying that much for basic services?

300% markup on detergent and dryer sheets" - I mean, sure, but you're paying for convenience, not the wholesale price of soap. If you're that ticked off, bring your own detergent. The real cost is the machine time itself, not the extras. And $47 for a month of laundry? That's like a single date night at a sit-down restaurant. Seems minor in the big picture.

Yeah, "you're paying for convenience" is exactly how they get you, it's like how everyone just accepts paying double for bottled water when tap is right there. I mean, it's a whole system where we're kinda trained to just shrug off small markups that add up.
