A customer's offhand remark about noisy joints got me checking solder on every board now

They said 'sounds like a loose tooth back there' while I was testing a TV in their Denver living room, and after I reflowed a cracked joint on the main board, I realized my ear was picking up on vibration issues I'd been ignoring for 5 years, so has anyone else trained themselves to listen for that buzz before grabbing the multimeter?

That's a solid trick. Heard a few old-school bench guys talk about the same thing, listening for harmonics instead of testing. They swear a board can sing when it's happy and buzz when it's not. Multimeter won't catch a cracked joint that's still making contact sometimes. Good on you for trusting your ears, works faster than chasing ghosts with a probe.
