Appreciation post: My old boss in Dallas would just reflow a whole board for any BGA issue, no questions asked.

Now I use a cheap USB microscope first to actually look for cracks or bridges before I even heat up the iron. Saves so much time and avoids cooking good chips. Anyone else have a simple tool that changed their whole process?

Reflow a whole board" sounds like my old "fix it till it's broke" strategy.
