Blew $60 on a fancy desoldering gun that clogged after two uses

Had to take it apart and clean it with a wire every time, just get a cheap solder sucker and some copper wick instead, anyone else ditch their expensive desoldering tool?

I used to swear by the expensive guns until mine clogged on the third use and now I just use a cheap pump.

pro gun made me feel like a surgeon for about five minutes" lol that's way too real. Honestly I just heat the joint up with extra flux on the wick and it pulls everything out like magic, zero cleanup.

@the_drew is living proof that expensive gear is just a faster way to find out you hate cleaning stuff. My "pro" gun made me feel like a surgeon for about five minutes, then turned into a clogged nightmare I had to fight with a paperclip. Cheap pump and wick never let me down, and if they break I just buy another one for the cost of a lunch.
