Can we talk about how people always forget to discharge caps before probing?
I saw a guy at the local repair spot yesterday just jab his multimeter leads into a power supply board without touching the big filter caps first. How do you handle customers who bring in gear with obvious blown traces from stuff like that?

Cracked open a monitor once and zapped myself so bad my watch thought I was having a heart attack. The customer just shrugged and said "well it was working before I brought it in." Now I ask every single person "did you touch any big cylindrical parts inside there?" before I even open the case. If I see a blown trace I just hand it back and say this is on you buddy. Learned that lesson the hard way after fixing a few of those messes for free.
