Fixed a 1970s Pioneer receiver for a older guy who said it was his dad's

He teared up when he heard the FM tuner lock onto a station for the first time in 15 years, handed me $60 cash and said 'my old man would've fixed this himself if he could', and I've been riding that feeling all week - have you ever had a repair that hit you harder than expected?

Hug that feeling, man. Nothing beats bringing something back to life that meant that much to someone. You gave him way more than just a working radio.

Omg right?? Like here I am struggling to keep my own phone alive past 2pm and this guy goes and resurrects a whole radio. Talk about setting the bar lol. But seriously that moment when you flip the switch and it actually works again is pure magic. Even if you did spend 3 hours chasing a loose wire first. Worth it every time though.

Didn't you just get reminded why we do this stuff?
