Found a wild ground loop in a customer's home theater setup near Austin
Last month I was troubleshooting a constant hum in a Denon AVR-X2700H that drove me crazy for an hour. Turns out the cable box and the receiver were plugged into different outlets on different circuits, creating a nasty ground loop. I fixed it with a $15 ground loop isolator from Amazon and now I always check the outlet circuits first.

Oh wait, that isolator actually blocked some audio quality, a cheater plug would've worked better for that grounding issue!

Huh, never thought of it that way but you're right, the cheater plug is way cleaner for that setup.
