Showerthought: cheap multimeters vs a Fluke on a hot ground issue last week

I was chasing a phantom ground fault in an old stereo receiver from a thrift store in Akron. My $15 meter kept bouncing around and I wasted like 2 hours. Borrowed a buddy's Fluke 117 and found the bad solder joint in 5 minutes on the first probe. Has anyone else hit that point where the tool cost itself back in saved time?

Cheap meter probably works fine if you know how to use it.

Yeah and a butter knife works fine if you're not trying to cut stone.
