Talked with a retired TV repair guy and it changed how I approach caps
He told me he never replaced a capacitor without checking the ESR first, even on obviously bulged ones. Has anyone else changed their method after talking to an older tech?

Trust me, I still shotgun caps like a caveman and call it good enough.
