TIL I've been cleaning my soldering iron tips all wrong for 3 years
Ngl, I was at a bench session with a guy from Chicago last month and he watched me scrub my tip on that wet sponge thing. He pulled out this brass wool ball and told me to try it instead. Honestly, the difference is wild. My tip stays tinned way longer and doesn't have those little pits anymore. Has anyone else switched and noticed a big change in their tip life?

Funny how that works - sometimes the simplest tweaks make the biggest difference. Reminds me of how people swear by different techniques for sharpening kitchen knives too. We get set in our ways and don't realize there's a better method right under our noses.
