I rewatched the 'Lost' finale after ten years and felt completely different about it
I first saw it when it aired in 2010 and was so mad at the church scene... I thought it was a cop-out. But I watched it again last night, and it hit me way harder. I'm older now, and the whole thing about letting go and moving on with the people who mattered to you... it just made sense this time. Has anyone else had a finale opinion do a total 180 like that?

Yeah my buddy Dave had that happen with the Sopranos ending. He hated the cut to black when it aired, called it a lazy trick. We rewatched the whole series last year and when that final scene hit, he just sat there quiet for a minute. He said now that he's seen people come and go in his own life, the idea of not getting a clean ending felt more real. Totally changed his mind on it.

Man, that's so true. I hated that ending too when I first saw it. But getting older makes you get it, you know? Life just stops sometimes, no big finish.

Yeah, @anderson.jason gets it. I used to want every movie to wrap up like a kids' show, where the hero wins and you know what happens next. Then you live a little and see that most stuff just... ends. Your favorite diner closes with a note on the door. You stop talking to a friend and never really know why. That Sopranos cut to black used to feel like a cheat. Now it feels like the most honest thing on TV. It's not about the bang, it's about the nothing that comes after.
