Just wasted $80 on a box set that had a terrible finale

I bought this complete series of a show called The Lost Colony on DVD last week for 80 bucks. Everyone online hyped it up as this amazing sci-fi mystery show. I binged all three seasons in like 10 days and the ending was a total cop out. The main villain just disappeared and they left every question unanswered. I feel ripped off because I could have streamed it for free but wanted the physical copies for my collection. Has anyone else bought a full series only to hate how it wrapped up?

I was at the public library in my town picking up a hold and heard one of the librarians tell a patron that she hates finishing long series because the endings always disappoint her. Paid $40 for the last Game of Thrones season on Blu-ray and it still stings

Bought the complete box set after season 7. Thought I was being smart. Spent $40 on season 8 alone because I couldn't wait. Watched the finale and just sat there. Felt like I got robbed. All that build up for nothing. Did anyone else feel like they wasted money on that ending too?

The Sopranos fade to black still bugs me 10 years later

I watched the whole series again last month and that cut to black in the diner hits different now knowing David Chase planned it that way from the start. It made me feel cheated the first time but now I think it's actually genius because it forces you to decide what happens next yourself. Do you think Tony died in that moment or did he just keep living his paranoid life?

Just found out the original ending of the Dexter finale was way different

I was reading an old interview with the showrunner and apparently Dexter was supposed to die by lethal injection in the last episode, not become a lumberjack lol. Has anyone else heard about alternate endings that got canned? Makes me wonder what other shows changed their finales at the last second.

Hot take: That final season of Lost really messed me up when I watched it in 2010

I was supposed to be swapping out a water heater in a basement in St. Paul and I stayed up until 3am binge-watching the last few episodes instead of prepping my tools the night before. The job got delayed because I was so tired I forgot my pipe cutter at home and had to drive 45 minutes back to get it. Did anyone else feel like that show just gave up on explaining anything by the end or am I being too hard on it?

Rewatched Breaking Bad's finale after 5 years and saw it completely different

First time I watched it I thought Walter White won. He got the money to his family, took out the neo-nazis, died on his own terms. But last month I sat through it again after my own business almost went under. This time I noticed every single thing he touched turned to ash. Jesse screaming in the car, Skyler's empty face, that house with the graffiti. The guy didn't win anything, he just burned everything down and called it a victory. Anybody else have a finale flip on them like that after some life experience?

I bought the last book in the 'Ember Crown' series after everyone online said the ending was perfect. It was over 700 pages and honestly, the last 100 felt like the author just gave up. The main villain was defeated in like two paragraphs after six books of build-up, and the main couple I'd rooted for just broke up with no real reason.
