My cat knocked over my coffee right as the big twist in the 'Severance' finale was revealed

I was on my couch in Denver, totally hooked on the last ten minutes. My cat, Mittens, jumped up and sent a full mug of cold brew right onto my laptop keyboard. The screen went black for a solid 30 seconds while I scrambled with a towel. I had to finish the episode on my phone, which just felt wrong for such a cool show. Has anyone else had a pet totally ruin a finale moment for them?

My dog did that during a big fight scene once. I keep a silicone keyboard cover on my laptop now (they're cheap on Amazon). It won't save the screen from a spill, but it keeps the keys from getting ruined. A towel under your mug helps too.

Thea, how exactly did a towel under the mug help you in the moment? Like, did it just catch the drip or did it actually stop the coffee from running off the desk and onto your lap? Because that sounds like it would just make a bigger wet spot to clean up later.

You say a towel under your mug helps, but that's just making a mess easier to clean up instead of stopping it. Why not just keep drinks on a side table away from your electronics entirely? A keyboard cover is a band-aid fix for a problem you can avoid. It's not that hard to just be more careful where you put your coffee.
