The ending of 'The 100' still has me torn after three years
I just rewatched the series finale and I'm stuck. On one side, the whole 'transcendence' thing felt like a weird, rushed cop-out that ignored seven seasons of survival themes. On the other, you could argue it was a peaceful, fitting end for characters who had fought non-stop. It took me a solid two weeks of thinking about it to even form an opinion, and I'm still not sure. What's your take, did the ending work or totally miss the mark?

Man, I'm still trying to figure out if I liked it or not, and I watched it live. My take is that the peaceful ending felt nice for the characters, but the whole "join the glowing light" thing came out of nowhere. It was like they wrote themselves into a corner and just picked the weirdest door.

Totally get being torn, that finale was a trip. Felt like they swapped the whole show's vibe for a weird sci-fi sermon at the last minute. Still bugs me too, honestly.

Ever feel like a show's ending just needed one more draft? I agree with @kaiblack that the peaceful end was nice, but the weird light stuff felt tacked on. For me, that last-minute switch is what keeps it from really working.
