My cereal aisle meltdown made me question all food labels

I was trying to pick a healthy cereal but got lost in all the claims like 'whole grain' and 'fortified'. Some say more details help us eat better, but I think they just make shopping a headache. My view is that labels should just show basics like calories and allergens, skip the rest. What do you all think? Am I crazy for wanting less info?

But what if the problem isn't the info itself, but how it's presented? All that extra stuff feels like a distraction from the simple facts we actually need.

Your point about labels just showing basics... it's like how every app now buries simple settings in endless menus.

Yeah, it's classic corporate logic. They hide the useful stuff behind three menus and call it a magic trick. Feels less like a setting and more like an Easter egg hunt you pay for.
