Pro tip: Light olive oil doesn't mean low fat

I mean, I always picked light olive oil because I thought it was healthier. But idk, maybe it's just me, but I learned it's just lighter in color. The fat content is the same as regular. So if you're watching your diet, check the label closely. Don't let the word 'light' trick you.

Wasn't my friend Susan sure she was being good by using the light stuff? She used it for everything until she finally read the bottle and saw the calories were the same. It's just one of those clever marketing tricks that catches so many people.

Honestly, those clever marketing tricks @taylor.kelly talked about are why I never trust 'light' labels without checking. It's all just smoke and mirrors.

My mom switched to light olive oil last year thinking it was lower calorie. Turns out light just means milder flavor, same calories. But I’ve seen real cuts too, like light mayo having half the fat of regular. Yeah some are tricks, but the label does force companies to show the numbers so you can check. Still gotta read that back panel every time.
