Just realized how much admin work eats into my freelance day

Yesterday, I tracked my time and saw that I spent over four hours on emails, invoicing, and tracking expenses. I even missed a client call because I was buried in receipts. It made me wonder if I'm doing this efficiently. How do you all keep the paperwork from taking over your creative or billable hours?

Schedule your admin work like it's a client meeting. I block out two hours every Monday morning for emails and invoicing, so it never spills over. For receipts, I use a phone app that scans them right away, no more digging through piles. Set up email templates for common replies to cut down on typing time. And always, always put client calls in your calendar with alerts, so you don't miss them. It sounds basic, but batching this stuff saved my sanity.

My approach to admin work is hoping I remember before tax season. Receipts end up in my pocket after laundry. Email templates? I copy-paste from last time. Client calls get alarms, then I ignore them. Your method sounds way more sane.
