Turning leftover pot roast into shepherd's pie was a game changer

I had a ton of leftover pot roast from Sunday dinner and was sick of eating it plain. So I chopped it up, threw it in a baking dish with some frozen peas and carrots, then topped it with leftover mashed potatoes and baked it for 20 minutes at the church potluck last week. Has anyone else found a surprise combo that worked way better than expected?

Wait, you brought leftover pot roast casserole to a church potluck? That's either genius or borderline dangerous, depending on who's judging... I once tried to reinvent cold pizza by turning it into a breakfast strata with eggs and cheese, and it came out looking like a science experiment that went wrong. So yeah, your pot roast move sounds way safer than my pizza disaster.

Did you get any side-eye at the potluck for bringing a leftover remix instead of a fresh dish? I'm curious if people knew it was Sunday's roast or if they just thought it was a regular shepherd's pie from scratch. That kind of move can either make you a hero or get you stuck on the "interesting" table for good.
