Last Tuesday on the 42 bus in Portland, a man in a suit leaned over and told me I was standing in the wrong spot to board because the driver stops 3 feet early. He then pulled out a printed bus route map with hand drawn circles showing every driver's exact stopping habits for the last 2 years. Has anyone else had a fellow passenger give unsolicited transit advice that was way too detailed for the situation?
I hated the crush, but now I see it as a chance to people watch and daydream.
An elderly woman was barely holding on. Now I always offer my seat if I see someone in need.
